SMS And Get Arrested

MURRAY
Short message known as SMS not only can make romance blossom, it also can make your fiancé angry due to "black" SMS. In fact SMS can cause someone to get arrested. A teacher sent SMS to a drug dealer to ask for delivery of his share of narcotics. Do you know who the SMS was mis-sent to? To a US soldier by the name of Trooper Trevor Pervine, who was having lunch with his wife to celebrate parents’ day. Pervine thought someone was playing a practical joke and didn’t take it seriously. However the following series of pushy SMS’s that kept landing on his mobile phone became too much for him. Pervine then contacted the police in Kentucky State, USA and called the SMS sender. The sender turned out to be a teacher by the name of Ann Greenfield, aged 34, a resident of Murray. Greenfield agreed to meet and later arrested. The teacher, supposedly an example of a good citizen, was finally expelled and put on trial. (Reuters, February 2007)

  • Actually it was not a soldier, it was an off duty Kentucky State Trooper having dinner with his wife and parents celebrating a birthday. Trooper Pervine set up the meeting with the person that was texting him and made the arrest with assistance from another trooper and the narcotics team.
